ARTS Experience Festival Kicks Off at HWS

It’s time to kick-off the start of the Arts Experience festival!

On April 2nd, members of the festival Steering Committee (Mary Kelly, Marnie Lersch, Christin Lersch— with the help of Ontario ARC artist Jenny Greer) installed the “Transformational Doorway: Community Sculpture Project” on the Hobart and William Smith College campus outside the Scandling Student Center. Walk through this sculptural doorway during the festival for an eye opening, altered perspective of what the beauty of true collaboration can look like!

This interactive project incorporated upcycled vinyl records & cds; each uniquely and artistically transformed by groups participating from all over the region (including members of the Collaborative of NY)— and is one of the many exciting highlights at this year’s 9th annual Arts Experience festival. You are invited to step through this gateway with us, as we embrace our uniquely diverse, creative and inclusive community.

The Arts Experience festival is a partnership of Hobart & William Smith Colleges and the Collaborative of NY, Inc. The festival is an opportunity for participants , including people with intellectual disabilities, the college community, and the general public to explore various means of expression through the arts. This festival will run April 3-13. More festival information can be found at www.hws.edu/festival.
